A volume compiled by David M. Skoudy, a book collector for Paris Image Unlimited, bringing together photographs selected from his own collection around the theme of “alternative menswear,” which he has admired since his teenage years. The book features portraits by renowned photographers such as William Klein, William Eggleston, Shoji Ueda, Keiichi Tahara, and Masayoshi Sukita, alongside fashion brand lookbooks, amateur snapshots, and found photographs. From these diverse sources, Skoudy gathers and presents fashion images that embody “alternative” style―that is, fashion imbued with an individual sense of rebellion and refinement. The book is published by Cairo Apartment, the studio of designer Seiko Morikawa and artist Jun Iwasaki, based in The Hague, the Netherlands.

Paris Image UnlimitedのブックコレクターのDavid M Skoudyが、彼が10代の頃から憧れ続ける「オルタナティブメンズウェア」をテーマに、自身のコレクションの中から選出した写真をまとめた一冊。ウィリアム・クライン、ウィリアム・エグルストン、植田正治、田原桂一、鋤田正義、デュシャンといった著名な写真家によるポートレートやファッションブランドのルックや素人のスナップ、ファウンドフォトなどから、「オルタナティブ」、つまりその人なりの反骨精神と洗練さを兼ね揃えたファッション写真を収集、掲載している。出版はオランダ・ハーグに拠点を置くデザイナーの森川聖子とアーティストの岩崎淳のスタジオ、Cairo Apartment。
