This is an archive of lace featuring animals, produced as part of the "Alca di Filo (Ark of Thread)" publishing project by Arnaldo Caprai, a businessman who developed the Italian textile industry and is also a collector of lace and embroidery. The lace featured depicts a vast variety of real and imaginary animals, truly befitting the title of an ark. The book's excellent design allows readers to experience the texture of the lace as they read, thanks to the lace attached to the cover.
イタリアのテキスタイル産業を発展させた 実業家でありレース・刺繍のコレクター Arnaldo Caprai 氏による「Alca di Filo(糸の箱舟)」という出版プロジェクトによって制作された、動物が登場するレースのアーカイブ集。掲載されたレースには、まさに方舟というにふさわしく、非常に多くの種類の、現実・空想上の動物が描き出されている。表紙に貼り付けられた (16世紀当時のデザインの)レースによって、手触りを実感しながら読むことができる優れたブックデザイン。
